Trampolines, play sets recalled
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued two recalls of children’s products: Skywalker Holdings trampolines and Step 2 Play Up Gym play sets.
Skywalker Holdings is recalling about 60,000 trampolines sold between January 2007 and February 2009. The trampoline being recalled is the 13-foot Square Trampoline and Enclosure Combo. It has blue spring pads, a black net enclosure and a jumping mat. There have been 250 reports of the straps holding the trampolines enclosure breaking.
Consumers should contact the manufacturer for a free repair kit before allowing children to use the trampoline. Call the company at (866) 603-5867 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. MT, Monday through Friday.
Step 2 is recalling 4,300 Play Up Gym sets that were sold exclusively at Toys 'R' Us between January and April 2009. The hangers that attach the swings to the play set can break. There have been 17 reports of hangers breaking. The recalled set includes two swings, a slide, a climber, and a platform, and has model number 797300.
Consumers should contact Step 2 for free replacement hangers and instructions. Call the company at (800) 347-8372 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
